Dear Bryan Lions,
Welcome to the 2017-2018 school year at W.J. Bryan Elementary Museums Magnet School!
Thank you for giving us the opportunity and privilege to work with your children! We look forward to creating a challenging, nurturing, safe and fun learning environment. The staff at W.J. Bryan Elementary works hard with each other so that students are receiving the best instruction possible. We believe that all students have the ability to succeed both academically and personally and look forward to working with students to accomplish this goal.
Community involvement is a key component to the success of students at W.J. Bryan. Research indicates that a student who has consistent parent involvement throughout their school career is more likely to graduate and go on to higher learning. That is the ultimate goal that we have for each of our students. Our staff welcomes parent volunteers and community volunteers as key contributors to supporting the learning of our students. I would like to invite all to be a part of our school community. We welcome and encourage parent volunteers and hope that you will take advantage of the many opportunities available to you. These opportunities include tutoring in the classroom, attending/volunteering at PTA events, working in classrooms, chaperoning field trips, student mentoring groups and more. Please contact your child’s teacher or our office staff for ways to become involved in our school.
Please take a moment to read through the parent handbook. It is full of important information and will help you and your child have a successful year. It will provide you with some of the basic information about our expectations, common procedures, and norms at W.J. Bryan Elementary.
I am honored to be the principal of W.J. Bryan Elementary Museums Magnet School and look forward to working with our talented educators, supportive parents, and amazing students again this year. Thank you in advance for making W.J. Bryan a wonderful place for children to learn.
Here’s to a great school year!
Sincerely,
Milagros Maytin-Miret
Principal
